Counseling

Substance Abuse

For some Welfare-to-Work (WTW) participants, the first barrier to overcome is substance abuse including alcohol and drug use, or mental health needs. Substance abuse can decrease the ability of a parent to be successfully employed.

Getting Treatment

Depending on the mental health need, self-sufficiency can be quite elusive. The Human Services Agency contracts with community partners to provide counseling for these individuals. Through treatment and counseling for a variety of mental health and substance abuse problems, participants can make themselves ready for employment and participation in other WTW activities that increase employability.
