The Community Plan Update process follows the general phases:

  1. Background & Analysis

    • Review existing data such as existing plans and maps
    • Seek community ideas in visioning of plan
  2. Plan Development

    • Use community vision to develop policy and land use alternatives
    • Obtain input on alternatives
  3. Community Plan & Environmental Impact Report (EIR) Drafting

    • Draft community plan with public input
    • Prepare EIR and related technical documents
  4. Review & Adoption

    • Revise plan based on public comment
    • Present plan through County review bodies
    • Capture additional community input
  5. Implementation

    • Process development proposals consistent with community vision
    • Carryout programs and projects identified within the plan
    • Seek additional funding opportunities to implement the plan
