Merced County's first MHSA Innovation (INN) Project Plan, the Strengthening Families Program, was approved by Merced County Board of Supervisors in July of 2010, and by the State Department of Mental Health and the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) in August of 2010.
An Expansion to the Strengthening Families Program, the Juvenile Behavioral Health Court, was added as an Innovation Program in December of 2011.
In February of 2017 a new Innovation Program, the Innovative Strategist Network, was approved by the Merced County Board of Supervisors on November 22, 2016, and approved by the MHSOAC on February 23, 2017. This new program is expected to start in 2018.
