The MHSA Oversight and Accountability Commission’s Innovation Committee defines Innovative Programs as novel, creative, ingenious mental health approaches developed within communities in ways that are inclusive and representative, especially of unserved, underserved, and inappropriately served individuals.
Purpose: Innovation (INN) funds learning-based projects that are intended to affect an aspect of mental health practices and/or assess a new or changed application.
INN Programs strive to meet at least one of the following goals:
- Increase access to underserved groups
- Increase the quality of services including measurable outcomes
- Promote interagency and community collaboration
- Increase access to services
