Board of Supervisors to Honor Volunteerism Award Recipients

The Merced County Board of Supervisors will recognize the winners of the 2019 Merced County Volunteer Recognition Program during its meeting Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Ten winners were chosen by the Volunteer Advisory Committee to be honored, and are listed below:

  • District One
    • Fabi Cervantes – Planada in Action Committee
    • Russell G. Winton – Livingston Spring Concert Series
  • District Two
    • Rob & Andrea Baptie – HateDust Project
    • Cheryl Penner – Merced City School District, Peterson Elementary School Library
  • District Three
    • Jennifer Jimenez – Atwater / Merced Little League
    • Andrew King – Central Valley Honor Flight, Merced County 4-H, Merced Youth Baseball Association, etc.
  • District Four
    • Maxine Price – Snelling Community Building Foundation, Snelling Women’s Club, Snelling MAC, etc.
    • Zachery Ramos – Traveling Library
  • District Five
    • Kristen Plascencia – Girl Scout Troop No. 3022
    • David Carr – Merced County Probation, Iris Garrett Juvenile Justice Correctional Complex

This program is part of “National Volunteer Week,” which is sponsored by the Points of Light Foundation. The program provides an opportunity for Merced County residents to applaud the efforts of volunteers from their communities. The 2019 Merced County Volunteer Recognition Program is a time to say “thank you” to the many volunteers who make outstanding contributions to their communities throughout the year. They volunteer with neighbors, friends, family members and strangers to improve quality of life, educate and make positive change. Their efforts are greatly appreciated.
