Operation Christmas Star 2018

Operation Christmas Star 2018

It’s that time of year again! The Merced County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Merced County Probation Department and Wellpath (formally CFMG) to bring you Merced County Operation Christmas Star.  Our purpose is to bring smiles to the children in our community during this upcoming holiday season.  2017 was a great year and 2018 promises to be even bigger and better with all the communities help.  The real reward for all involved is seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces when we deliver much needed toys and clothing to their doorsteps.  However, in order to bring Christmas to all the children in need, we need your help.  In years past we have counted on your generous donations to help us on our quest.  This year is no different and we would appreciate your help and support by donating a new unwrapped toy or clothing to Operation Christmas Star.

Located in the Lobby of the Sheriff’s Office, Probation Department, and the Merced County Administrative services Building will be Christmas Trees with several star ornaments hanging from the branches.  Each star will have information regarding a donation needed for a child.  However, if you wish to make a cash donation, you can make a check out to The Merced County Explorer’s Program and drop it off at the Merced County Sheriff’s Office or Probation Department.  Anything helps and any donations are tax deductible, TAX ID# 77-0444072.

Merced County Operation Christmas Star will also be hosting a toy drive at two different locations this year.  On November 23, 2018, we will be in the parking lot of Walmart in Atwater and on December 8, 2018 we will be in the city of Merced at the Walgreen's Parking lot on the corner of “G” Street and Olive Avenue.  We will be collecting toys, clothing, and money donations and have a photo booth with Sheriff Roscoe T. Star at the locations.  Additionally, we will have Sheriff Office Special Operations vehicles to look at and music to enjoy.

On behalf of Merced County Operation Christmas Star, I would like to say thank you for your continued support to this much needed program.  Without generous people like you, this would not be possible.  If you would like more information, please contact Deputy Daryl Allen at (209) 564-0480.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!!!

Sincerely,

Merced County Operation Christmas Star
